About our websites

and why most clients love them

We create full-featured websites with dramatic presentations, user-friendly experiences, custom-designed functions and e-commerce capabilities to perform as required.

Non-profits and small businesses are often seduced into contracting with the cheapest website vendor they can find. Often, some local “guy” who swears that he can do the job at little to no cost. But, websites are not all created equal! Some require advanced technology and custom-designed applications in order to function as required.

As the portfolio websites below attest, we are expert at producing world-class websites that can be scaled for large organizations but which can also be delivered at price points that are affordable by small businesses, start-ups, community-based non-profits, churches and artists.

1. Seats And Stools

As the name implies, Seats and Stools sells a range of seating products to residential and commercial clients across the USA – with a particular specialty in Breuer chairs and logo seating. The company does all of its business through its website. It does not have a bricks and mortar store! As such, it was very eager to update and upgrade an old website and online store that had become more than a little dated and stale. This new website with a custom designed theme, built on the Bigcommerce platform, delivers the kind of modern, user-friendly, feature-rich experience that management wanted for itself and its customers.

Owner, Allen Hilder is well pleased. Among other things, he says “you have done a fantastic job with our A to Z website design.  Page clicks have increased dramatically, and customers have been saying how much easier it is to navigate. Thanks for listening and making our new site a reality.”

2. Coral Cove Beach Resort & Spa

Coral Cove is a secluded, all-inclusive resort on the southwestern coast of Jamaica. This new responsively designed WordPress website is a dramatic improvement over their previous sites and is a key element of an initiative to re-brand and re-energize the property in general and it’s destination wedding business in particular. AEV has taken charge of the company’s online marketing strategy including search engine optimization, Facebook marketing and pay-per-click marketing

Owner, Steve Zindars is extremely pleased. Among other things, he notes: “This (is) the 4th website for us over the past 15 years, and by far the best experience I have had through the developmental stages …… It has gone well beyond my expectations. From the development of the initial contract to the launch of the new site, I could not have asked for a better more professional experience”

3. Andrew Lawrence

Andrew Lawrence is an award winning staff writer at Sports Illustrated magazine. He primarily writes about motorsports, football and tennis but has done profiles of many well-known personalities in sports and covered big events like the Super Bowl, the U.S. Open and the Indianapolis 500. His writing has also appeared in publications such as the Dallas Morning News, the Associated Press, Southern Living, Austin Monthly, GQ, Complex, Cookie, and The Classical, among other outlets.

This is Andrew’s first professional website created for the obvious purpose of showcasing his work. The website presents information in a manner that is direct, clear, simple and intuitive while also delivering an online presence that is attractive and professional. It is also on a platform that can be easily enhanced and/or upgraded, as necessary, with more features and functions.

We consider a website of this type to be a viable and very affordable reference and branding option for just about any professional looking to establish himself or herself on the internet.

4. Lillstreet Art Center

Lillstreet Art Center offers an extensive program of classes and workshops for adults and children in areas such as ceramics, metalsmithing, jewelry, painting & drawing, printmaking, textiles, and glass. As such, the center’s website is chock full of detailed information that must be updated several times a year before the beginning of each semester. This was a difficult, time-consuming process for which the company paid thousands of dollars to an outside webmaster.

But no more! In addition to its attractive design, this new website is managed internally by way of an easy-to-use, custom-designed content management system. The site also includes a sophisticated e-commerce platform to support online payments and shopping in the gallery store.

5. Pianoforte Foundation

The PianoForte Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of piano playing and in creating a vibrant piano community within the greater Chicago area. The foundation has been a client for some years and the current website is an upgrade of one we developed several years earlier. Its many features include a custom-design CMS and shopping cart which, among other things, facilitate the self-management of their concerts, ticket sales and annual piano competition. They are very happy with the integration of their YouTube channel and other rich media as well as the ease with which they can manage almost all aspects of the site.

6., a community of people who travel frequently for business and leisure, required a website for members to share information about their hotel experiences – away from the influence of the marketing and promotional messages that are usually found on other travel review sites. This is a custom-designed website designed and developed according to detailed feature and performance specifications. There are many developers who can build basic business websites – so long as this can be accomplished with WordPress, Drupal, Joomla or one of the other popular open source platforms. However, not many of these “developers” also have the experience and expertise to custom code to the kind of complex and specific feature and performance requirements that were demanded by this client.

7. Walter S. Mander Foundation

This foundation supports cancer research; community development; Jewish and Israeli organizations and programs; local foods movements; urban agriculture and greening programs; as well as other areas that were of interest to the late Walter S. Mander. This is the foundation’s very first website. This project is also a good example of the high quality but very affordable websites that we routinely create for small arts and non-profit clients. Supporting small organizations such as the Walter Mander Foundation is an important part of our mission and we take much pride in this work.

SP Tech Pools & Spa is a small, family-owned business located in Oak Park, Illinois – in the near western suburbs of Chicago. The company services, repairs and installs swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and whirlpool baths for mostly residential customers across the Chicagoland region. It has been in business for close to fifteen years and is very highly regarded as can be evidenced by its reviews on the HomeAdvisor website.

This new WordPress website is the company’s first truly professional online presence and is reflective of the kind of high quality work we can provide for even a very small business on a modest budget. The website was also developed to accommodate growth and the addition of e-commerce features in the near future

9. Rosenbaum Framing

They are a full service, family-owned, custom framing business committed to the finest quality materials, word-class workmanship, creative designs and the highest level of customer service. From children’s drawings to investment art, family photographs to sports memorabilia, needlework to military medals, our expert framers and design consultants can guide you to the perfect framing solution.

10. St. Maria Goretti Old Girls International

St. Maria Goretti Old Girls International (GOGI) is a sisterhood of graduates of the St. Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School in Benin City, Nigeria. With members spread across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa and other places in the diaspora, GOGI is a truly international organization and values its website as an important place for members to connect with each other, organize support for their school, and, share information about their activities and accomplishments. This new responsively designed WordPress website is an upgrade of another we created several years ago and solidifies an ongoing relationship with these extraordinary ladies.

Like any small non-profit, GOGI was looking for an affordable website that could: i) be easily maintained by lay people with little knowledge about websites; ii) project a strong professional image; iii) tell the story about its members and mission; ii) communicate with members about important matters; and, and, iv) process payments related to membership dues and donations. The organization is extremely happy with what we’ve given them. According to President Desiree Tisdol: “We needed a website that would be engaging and user friendly, AEV Interactive came to the rescue. From the beginning to the end, (AEV) was very attentive to our speculations and delivered to our expectations. “
